How do you assess your performance? Yearly, we filled out a performance appraisal form to be given to the management for them to know if you are contributing to the company or not. Sometimes this results to promotion or increase in salary. The first thing that the management review is how well you do your task. In one way or the other, they compare your performance to others especially if you have same task or functions. The management would like to know also your other capabilities and areas of improvement. Usually, in appraisals, they are looking for new individuals that would fit certain function especially instead of hiring outside.
